This exactly what I wanted to feel. Colors and everything so wonderful that I couldn't take  eyes off.
Salt effects and cling wrap did their job  very well.

Painting dogs in watercolor ❖ between stages

Original dog watercolor by Olga Peregood
Original dog watercolor by Olga Peregood
Due to my recent post about showing the hole creating process as it become popular I continue this topic. This time we will jump into the process of creating this puppy in stages I have already painted. Believe me or not it was creating from my mind not from photograph. I enjoyed new technic fur forming so much so it is no big deal to paint any fur creature.

It`s all about the eyes. Ones you notice that somebody looking at you from a paper then enjoyable journey of creating fur, ear, neck is starts.

Main trouble is to stop in time. It is so much fun so you can`t stop.

Working on details in stages. Dog watercolor in progress by Olga Peregood
You can notice how loose I am and how many details I don’t worry about between stages. It prove how much fun I have during painting and not worry about the details. That is art for me. Just enjoy what you do. All your troubles are away and don’t be worry about details and anything else at all.

Every day on my morning walk I pass so many trees. I enjoy their beauty in snow, in storm, in different weather and sunlight angles. I live in beautiful countryside of Ontario so trees are everywhere.

I set a challenge not just paint a beautiful tree in winter but alive, with feeling of wind playing with its branches and snow falling down on blizzard. This exactly what I wanted to achieve. Watercolor is a magical medium!

Should every painting be finished?

Work in progress. 1st layer of future painting.
Stage: making decision on future subject.
By Olga Peregood
From this very first layer my imagination is full of different ideas. It could be a bird, a cockerel, or furry animal, an owl , etc.

I could enjoy my search of future subject as much time as I want or forever! Should every painting be finished?
Rich watercolor watermarks were formed with watercolor Perylene Maroon and salt.

Work in progress. Watercolor hummingbird by Olga Peregood.

I fell too architecturally after painting for competition and decided to paint something absolutely different.

Hummingbird is appearing from a very first wash on my easel. I like spontaneous brushstrokes and happy accidents and watermarks on image.

Make your mistakes

First layer of future female deer in watercolors by Olga Peregood

First layer of future female deer in watercolors by Olga Peregood

This is very light very first layer of future paintings. This layer is so magical and wonderful that it can stop me from painting on the next layer!

But I don't afraid to ruin it. And I ruined it. Next day I put second layer almost ruins magical results of the first ones. This paintings were strewn with lucky accidents which so hard to achieve! I am crying how they were glow and so fresh!

But I don't regret. Now I realized I should work harder on my patience while I painting.

So this is unique photos of first layer that passed away.

Every mistake is necessarily sacrifice for artists grown. I appreciate my mistakes. Mistakes are makes my progress quicker!

I like her eye on second layer. I will use this painting as an exercise.

And for this year, my wish for each of us is small and very simple. And it's this. I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something. So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever. — Neil Gaiman
