With my new favorite watercolor Quinacridone Gold by Winsor&Newton I could bravely forget about green watercolor tubes to portray greenery on my paintings. With my new one and Indigo and Violet we could grow our own greens with bunch of fun included.

Perfect bouquet for event SOLD

Original red carnations watercolor by Olga Peregood
SOLD Original red carnations watercolor by Olga Peregood
Past one year since we arrived in Canada. I bought bright bouquet of red carnations to highlight an event. What funny is reds recalls in Canadian symbols.

Canada brings new colors in my life. This country wide opened my mind. Shows how huge the kindness in people could be. I saw a freedom. I highly appreciate how warmly Canada meet me. Negativity oriented people could say I didn't see dark side of Canada. But isn't it in our charge/responsibility to choose/pay attention the side?

My little study of painting carnations in my favorite medium watercolor. Now I lay my eyes on huge piece of paper...

Suits me the best

Original chipmunk animal watercolor "Suits me the best" by Olga Peregood
Original watercolor "Suits me the best" by Olga Peregood

I walked through local art galleries and found funny collection of oils about chipmunks: chipmunk sitting in a boot, another painting of chipmunk behind garden tool. These paintings inspire me to paint mine in watercolor.

Knowing chipmunks quite well by having opportunity watch them near our house I took my son's sneakers into my studio and have a good time painting my interpretation.

Sneakers on my painting looks too small compare to chipmunk, but remember this is a kid's size shoe!

Now I have to made serious decision in which of walls to place this painting in children room or in lobby near boot shelf?

People ask me "How can I love Canada?! The winter!"

This question is not about Canada or winter. This is about wherever you are what you do to keep your energy, emotions and enthusiasm on high.

New tutorial

Hydrangea watercolor painting by Olga Peregood
I like to show my art.

I don't know why my hydrangeas are so popular? Maybe because I paint them from my sweet memories from my garden in Belarus or it's just popular flower in Canada as well. But people ask me how I paint them. It seems like I should filming this.

Stuff ❖ Palette

I was searching for that thing for a long time and finally I bought it in for kitchen department. I use this egg container as my palette.

I have my palette already and I like it. This one - it has a snap lid, so colors will not dry quickly.

I will use lid for mixing colors.

This is plastic so it's light-weight. I will take this palette for traveling as well.

I also bought this ceramic egg dish palette for additional colors for mixing.

They both are very cheaper than similar palettes in art supplies stores, so it's very beneficial.

Right now stores stocking for Easter so I think it's the best time to look for Chocolate Easter Bunny and egg containers palettes!
